Bread Orgy

We did a bread tasting for a Big Chicago Restaurant recently. It was a total bread-orgy. TOTALLY crazy cool. We brought about 30 loaves (of varying shapes, sizes and types). All handmade in our kitchens. All items we currently sell – but (literally) braided, baked and shaped in many different ways. Many were still warm. It – was – awesome. The (very impressive) folks who tasted it loved it – every bite. It was like Sally Fields at the famous Oscar Speech moment – “You like me…you really like me.”

We beamed in response.

Honestly, we’ve been working tirelessly with our bakers for 6 months now to perfect the breads and rolls. The perfect flours, the perfect grains and environment and equipment.

And perfect it is. Just recently, we have finally felt ready to go out and (selectively) increase our wholesale business. (The kitchens at Flourish are built for volume – but we want to be sure to find the right partners for our product, a high-end/high-quality/hand-made bread.)

The feedback (nods, moans and multiple tastings) from these people with obvious credibility, seasoned tastebuds and appreciation for things well-made was the best. To see a group of people diving in (and over) to taste and re-taste our breads was the best compliment ever. Crazy fun. Crazy good. Here’s to the future.

Eat Happy. Flourish.
